2D Artist (Mobile & VR Games)

We’re looking for a talented and motivated 2D Artist to join our growing team working on engaging mobile and VR game projects. As part of a cross-functional team, you will help define and bring to life the visual identity of our games, including titles such as Sugar Mess: Let's Play Jolly Battle VR, Jolly Battle, Match-3, and Jigsaw Puzzle.

You will collaborate closely with game designers, 3D artists, UI/UX designers, and developers to create visually stunning and technically optimized assets that enhance the gameplay experience on all target platforms.

Responsibilities:

Create high-quality concept art for characters, environments, props, and UI elements, in alignment with the artistic direction of the project.
Develop storyboards and sketches for cinematic sequences and gameplay mechanics.
Design and optimize textures (including tillable materials) for 3D models, tailored for performance in VR and mobile platforms.
Illustrate and deliver UI components, icons, and other interface assets, ensuring a smooth and intuitive user experience.
Collaborate with 3D artists to maintain consistency between concepts and final in-game models.
Apply and iterate on art feedback, contributing to the continuous improvement of visual quality.
Ensure structured file management by following naming conventions and organized folder structures.
Work alongside the development team to ensure assets are performance-friendly and compatible with Unity and platform-specific constraints.
Participate in regular team meetings to understand gameplay requirements and propose creative visual solutions.

Requirements:

Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Krita, or other industry-standard digital art tools.
Strong skills in digital drawing, composition, lighting, and color theory.
Proven experience in concept art, character and environment design.
Knowledge of texturing techniques, including seamless tileable textures for game environments.
Experience with UI/UX design tailored for mobile and VR platforms.
Familiarity with Unity Engine and basic asset integration workflows (a plus).
Understanding of 2D animation and rigging pipelines.
Ability to optimize 2D assets for real-time rendering in VR and mobile environments.
Solid grasp of file export formats and organization for game development needs.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills; open to feedback and team-oriented.
Detail-oriented, creative, and able to meet deadlines in a dynamic development environment.

Nice-to-Have:

Experience working on VR projects and understanding platform-specific visual constraints.
Skills in lighting design within 2D environments or contribution to scene lighting direction.
Familiarity with basic 3D modeling, animation, or VFX pipelines.
Knowledge of sprite rigging and 2D skeletal animation tools.
Understanding of performance optimization techniques for 2D graphics in Unity.
