Safety Specialist (Cargo Securement & Risk Management)

As a Safety Specialist at Nova Lines, your role will focus on ensuring that drivers comply with FMCSA regulations regarding cargo securement, pre-trip inspections, and other safety-critical tasks. You'll be responsible for promoting risk mitigation strategies and ensuring drivers adhere to safety standards. Communication with drivers will be key, ensuring they understand and follow all necessary protocols. This full-time position requires office presence.

Your responsibilities:

• Monitor and audit cargo securement practices and pre-trip inspection reports to ensure compliance;
• Provide regular reports and feedback on safety compliance, particularly around cargo handling and vehicle condition;
• Communicate with drivers daily via phone and written correspondence to offer guidance on securement standards and risk management;
• Review documentation related to vehicle safety and perform data entry as required;
• Conduct routine checks on compliance with driver’s driving practices and ensure safe operation standards;
• Facilitate driver training on pre-trip inspections, cargo securement, and other risk mitigation measures.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in safety coordination or a related field is preferred;
• Advanced proficiency in English (minimum B2 level) for both verbal and written communication;
• Proficiency in PC skills and the ability to work with various software programs;
• Excellent multitasking and prioritization abilities;
• Strong interpersonal skills, customer relations expertise, and the ability to work independently.
