Data Scientist – Forecasting Specialist

Orange Systems is looking for a highly skilled Data Scientist – Forecasting Specialist with a strong background in mathematics, statistics, or econometrics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving advanced forecasting models to support business decision-making. You will leverage statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and time series analysis to provide actionable insights that drive efficiency and strategic planning.

what you will be doing:

Design, develop, and optimize forecasting models to predict demand, sales, financial trends, and operational performance.
Apply time series analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning algorithms to improve prediction accuracy.
Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets to identify patterns, correlations, and trends.
Work closely with business stakeholders to translate forecasting outputs into actionable insights.
Implement automated forecasting pipelines to ensure scalable and repeatable solutions.
Validate model performance and continuously refine models using backtesting and error analysis.
Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in predictive analytics, AI, and machine learning.

what we are looking for:

Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Data Science, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in forecasting, predictive modeling, or statistical analysis.
Strong knowledge of time series analysis techniques (e.g., ARIMA, Exponential Smoothing, Prophet, LSTMs).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., statsmodels, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Hands-on experience with SQL and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn) is a plus.
Knowledge of business intelligence and financial modeling is a strong advantage.
