Chief accountant

Boekestijn Transport Service was started in 1994 in Mill, Netherlands. In those days there were three Boekestijn trucks on the road. By always sticking to our motto that we drive for you and that your wishes are the most important guidelines for the transport, the company has grown into a transport company of international standing in Europe and beyond, having now about 1000 trucks on the roads.

Boekestijn Transport Service trucks have traveled just about everywhere; from the Ural Mountains to the Strait of Gibraltar and from Turkey to Finland. It’s the challenge for Boekestijn Transport Service to fulfill all your wishes. Whether it is the transportation of a Formula 1 car to the racing circuit in Monza or the Dutch National football team’s footballs that are needed in Belarus.

In this role you will:

  • Analyze and report financial information to management;
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports;
  • Manage cash flow and account reconciliation;
  • Prepare and submit VAT and statistical declarations;
  • Ensure compliance with tax and relevant local legislation;
  • Collaborate with external/internal auditors;
  • Participate in the quarterly group consolidation process;
  • Manage and train staff as needed;
  • Co-drive improvements in accounting processes taking place in SSC
  • Contribute to the non-financial reporting (i.e. ESG).

You are the ideal candidate if you have:

  • Higher education degree in Accounting or related field;
  • 5 years of experience in accounting/finance role;
  • Strong knowledge of tax law and labor law;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
  • Proficiency in use of accounting software (like 1C, Sage, Exact),
  • Organizational skills;
  • Attention to details;
  • Fluency in spoken and written Romanian/Russian/English.
  • (German would be an advantage).
