Compliance Specialist

Compliance is a key team that ensures our one of the Fintech products and processes meet the regulatory requirements and translate this into the best customer outcomes. The compliance department needs to provide a service that is fit to accommodate the growth of our one of the Fintech product across multiple jurisdictions.
We are seeking a highly motivated Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Transaction Monitoring Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, investigating, and analysing transactions to detect potential instances of money laundering, fraud, or other suspicious activities. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Monitor and analyse customers’ transactions to identify any potentially fraudulent or illegal activity/potential risks.
• Conduct thorough investigations into flagged activity, including gathering and analysing relevant data and documentation.
• Utilize various tools and systems to assess transactional patterns and behaviours for potential anomalies.
• Document and report findings of investigations in a clear and concise manner, adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Compliance, Risk Management, and Legal, to escalate and resolve identified issues.
• Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry trends related to transaction monitoring and anti-money laundering (AML) practices.
• Develop transaction monitoring procedures and processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Participate in training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities to ensure a thorough understanding of transaction monitoring techniques and best practices.
• Ensuring the timely resolution and escalation of suspicious activity

In order to be successful in this role, we would expect to see:

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Strong experience in transaction monitoring, AML compliance, fraud detection, or related areas preferred in a payments or e-money regulated firm/bank with a focus on corporate clients.
• Deep knowledge of AML/KYC and Sanctions regulations
• Understanding of the risks that are prevalent when dealing with various corporate entity structures within the deliverable FX and payments environment.
• Knowledge of payment flows.
• Detailed understanding of the Money Laundering Directives and JMLSG
• Experience in operating a variety of internal and external systems and databases in order to complete investigations
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• An ability to review policies and procedures and advise if changes are required when necessary
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex information to identify the key issue/action and drive resolution
• A skill to present a summary and proposed conclusion to management in a timely and clear manner, including proposals to implement appropriate steps to mitigate risk and/or monitor it
• Fluency in English
