Project Description

Our Client is a fast-paced and growing Chicago-based EdTech company helping to make education both more affordable and more effective through the use of digital instructional resources. Partnering with more than 600 publishers and 1,900 campuses nationwide, they provide a leading-edge, end-to-end software platform for effortlessly distributing those materials to students and instructors.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain full-stack applications using TypeScript, ensuring seamless front-end (React) and back-end (Node.js, AWS, serverless) integration;
• Design, build, and implement scalable APIs and web services using AWS and serverless technologies;
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define and implement technical solutions;
• Ensure application performance, security, and responsiveness, optimizing serverless architectures for efficiency;
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality and prevent regressions;
• Perform code reviews, ensuring best practices in coding style, testability, and efficiency;
• Contribute to technical documentation and update content based on product improvements and user feedback;
• Track, troubleshoot, and resolve production and system issues, analyzing their root causes and impact on service operations;
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership within the team.

Job Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software development using TypeScript and JavaScript;
• Proficiency in React and Node.js for full-stack development;
• 5+ years of experience in front-end web development;
• 3+ years of experience working with AWS and serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.);
• 3+ years of experience in back-end development;
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, with experience in ORM tools;
• Proven ability to build and maintain scalable, high-performing applications;
• Experience working in agile and cross-functional development teams;
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment;
• Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring junior developers;
• English proficiency from B2 for effective communication in an international team.
